ARTIST STATEMENTS
I prefer to work mostly with larger-scale prints, allowing the viewer to immerse themselves in the colors and contrast and grainy texture of the film, to feel as if they are a part of the scene themselves.
I am currently working on two main collections of work:
SHADOW PLAY | Observes how light and shadow play with each other to form patterns, geometric shapes, and striking lines and curves. This collection is highly influenced by my background in graphic design as I translate these visual elements and depth of light into high contrast, graphical images.
CULTURAL AMBIENCE | A series of travel work that seeks to avoid the cliché, rather creating authentic images that capture the quiet moments and the essence of a place, allowing the viewer to feel the small details that illuminate the culture through a single, simplified subject.
